Southampton marathon 2017
Thursday, 01 December 2016 - Written by Markbrick060 [profile]
It all started back in June 2014.

After ten years of couch Potatoisum, my partner Kate needed me to take her to the gym as her friend let her down.

After a few months of doing this I felt I needed a target to keep me interested.

The great south run was coming up in October, so that was it.

Previously in the late eighties I had run a half marathon and a couple of ten mile races.

So I trained and set a target for 90 minutes. Come the day I completed it in 80 minutes I came out of it feeling really good and confident that I could do better.

I then took on the Southampton half marathon 1 hour 36 minutes.

It all took a turn for the worse, I got an injury plan
