Running Clubs and Groups
LogYourRun running clubs/groups is new feature that allows you to share your running data, routes, events and other information with people in your running club.

After joining a running club you will have the option to share each of your subsequent exercise log entries with other members of the club. Exercise data can then be reviewed by people with the right permission as in the Review Data section of the running log.

Club Setup

Setting up a new running club is easy. All you have to supply is a name and a short description of the club. We will set up a club forum and a place where people can write articles/announcements for the club. You will need to determine who you want to give permission to write announcements – it could be anybody (which includes non-members), only club members, only club coaches or only the club manager (you).

You also need to determine who can be a member of your club. There are 3 levels of club access:

  1. Open access. Anybody who is registered on LogYourRun.com can become a member of an open access club.
  2. Restricted Access. To become a member of a restricted access club you need to be invited by someone who is already a member of the club. Restricted access clubs are still listed in the club directory – but all member data is kept private from people that have not been invited to the club. This option is great for track clubs and running groups that would like to make other people aware of their existence but would like to stay in charge of membership.
  3. Invitation only. An invitation only running club is invisible to anyone who has not been invited. These clubs are not listed on the club directory or the local pages. This option was created to allow friends and spouses to share running data with each other.

Other information to provide are the email for the club and the URL for the running club website. If your club has a physical address you can also enter that – entering city, state and country information will get your club listed on the local page for your city if your club is not an invitation only club.

Once you create a club you will be able to edit it by going to the club front page - if you are the club manager there will be a link to a page where you can edit the club.
