18 Miler On Saturday

I just noticed I had this blog sitting in the weeds ready to be posted but forgot to do it.

This morning the plan was to go out for a long run at my confident pace. That is usually 12-15 miles at a 6:45 pace.

Instead of going for distance this time I went out for a set time. After cruising along for 45 minutes I picked a time goal of 2 hours.

That's about 33 minutes longer than my normal HM distance time.

So after two solid hours of pain free cruising I long 17.9 miles. Let's call it 18. So that's 6:40 mi. /mile over 18 miles.

Good times!!!

I was very happy about this run. More about proving to myself that I can run longer that 15 miles at a pace that I was targeting. Part of me wants to see how far I can go.....

This run completed a good week of training.

40+ miles of running

90+ miles of biking

3.5 hours lifting

40 min of yoga.

Note - those above numbers are breaking my limitations I put on myself. I will back off week of 6/20.

Had a great Father's Day too, Geocaching (saw rattlesnake), great Thai pizza, a breakfast with the fam (I ate the hashbrowns for the first time 3.5 years) and they bought me a toolbox too!!!!

Awesome Stuff -My family rules.

Ur speed is still so impressive to me. It took me longer then that to do a HM.
R u gonna do a marathon? U r def in the training range for it!
Wat kinda of yoga r u doing?

Incredible! I love the last 2 miles at 6:30. Amazing. Let's see....you are on pace for a sub 2:55:00 marathon. That is without specifically training for a marathon! Crazy!

rcblu2 - when you put it that way it sounds pretty cool!!!

Yoga training - I do yoga with my wife and we use some app on her iPad. can't recall the name of it.

Have a great weekend!!
