Slushy and Sloppy, Oh, Ya!

I walked outside yesterday for something, don't even remember for what and was shocked how awesome it was outside. Probably 33-34 degrees. Decided that it was the day to break the ice (no pun intended) for my first outdoor run of the year.

Running through slushy and sloppy streets never felt so good. My Garmin has been flaky and I can't get it to display pace, and I ended up starting out too fast. Looks like I'm going to have to relearn my pacing. I had to take a .5 mile walk in the middle of my run, partly because of starting out too fast and partly because of super tight shins.

Anyway, it felt so good to be back out running. It was a much needed break from the treadmill.

MidwesternWoman says:

Yeah! Good for you. Isn't it wonderful to be outside?

My travels keep getting me THIS CLOSE to really nice weather. For example, I head to Denver Monday afternoon. Where it is supposed to be 50! Of course, temp drops drastically on Tuesday, and I think the high on Wed is to be 8. But, if it still warm when I get off work Monday night.... I'll be running those Colorado streets, grinning the whole while. It would be so glorious to run in warmer temperatures!!!
