Morning Peace
Thursday, 26 August 2010 - Written by rcblu2 [profile]
I went to bed early last night because I didn't want to be exhausted when my alarm went off at 4:20am for my 9 miler. I ended up waking up at 3:30am on my own. I wasn't feeling tired anymore, but I laid in bed for 20 min before getting up. At 4am, suited up, fueled, and re-hydrated, I shut the garage door and turned on a podcast. The podcast started with a some calming music and I stood there in the moonlight taking in some of the cool morning air. I could tell already...I could feel it. This was going to be a good run. I took off at an easy pace, ran for a mile, and did some light stretching. The streets were very quiet. It was just me out there. At mile 8 still in the light of the moon with just a hint of the sky lightening up, I passed a group of 7 runners and exchanged friendly "Good mornings." It would be nice to run with a group, but today being by myself was the best. The 9 miles went by so easily. It was hard to believe. It was a near perfect morning run.

Bravo !

That's how I felt this morning on my ride. I turnd on my garmin and then threw it in a pocket on my camelbak and just rode.

The weather was excellent and the motivation was there.

Interesting I hit the sack at 9 last night too.

From what I can gather - a good night's sleep + good attitude + 50F tempuratures = excellent fitness conditions

Glad I'm not the only one who really enjoyed this morning!
