18 Miler = Done

| I rocked my 18 miler this morning. Kept a good pace and feel pretty good now that it is over. The weather certainly cooperated making things easier, but I also took in more nutrition during this run and I think it really paid off. I have been using Cliff Shots gels more and more. I used to take a gel once maybe twice during a really long run, but I am experimenting taking 3 or 4. I also tried out taking Cliff Blocks after 45 min of activity which were really easy to eat while running. Kinda fun too since they are like a gummy bear cube or something. I will be picking up more of those. I ended up completing the 18 miler today faster than my 17 miler last week. My time was 2:44:40 for a pace of 8:54. Just 2 more long runs to go. A 20 miler in a couple weeks and a 22 miler two weeks after that. This really is a long road to the marathon, but it is cool to realize that I have come so far. |
