Week 22 Summary
Monday, 16 August 2010 - Written by rcblu2 [profile]
This was the end of week 22 of my 30 week marathon training. It was a good week for running. The weather was pretty good on my running days and my pace ended up being a little quicker. My long run was 17 miles which I completed in 2:49:01. That is just a hair under 10 min miles. I am okay with that time, because I was taking it easier on myself because of the 5k run the day before and having spent a good time walking/standing at a carnival the night before. My joints are still tender, but I feel pretty good. I can't wait to get in the pool tonight to do something low impact. Four of the next 5 weeks will be pretty hellish for me as I look at an 18-mile run, 20 mile run, and a 22 mile run along with an Olympic Triathlon. I got my fingers crossed that my body will stay healthy.

Here are my totals for the week:

Run Distance: 33.94 miles

Run Time: 5:22:39 min

Swim Distance: 2000 yards

Swim Time: 45:00 min

Bike Distance: 38.6 miles

Bike Time: 2:12:21 min

Total Time: 8:20:00 min

Week 23 is going to look like:

Mon = (Evening) 45 Min Swim

Tues = 4.3 Run Miles

Wed = (Morning) 20 Bike Miles + (Evening) 45 Min Swim

Thurs = (Morning) 8.1 Run Miles + (Evening) 45 Min Weights

Fri = 4.3 Run Miles + (Evening) 45 Min Swim

Sat = 30 Bike Miles

Sun = 18 Mile Run

Total Run Miles for week = 34.7

Total Bike Miles for week = 50

Total Swim Minutes for week = 2.25 hrs

Some1s got some busy weeks coming up. But its nothing u can't handle.
On another note, I can't remember if ur bday was the sunday that past or the 1 comin n what watch u decided on?

My b-day was this past Sunday. I didn't get a training watch yet. I did get some cash to go towards one. I have spent a couple hours researching and am not any closer to making a decision. I was looking at the Timex Ironman Global Trainer, Suunto T6, and Garmin 405 and 310xt. I want to check out Polar as well. The perfect watch for me is just not out there.

Happy belated. Hope u had a great day.
I'm not expert in the watch field at all. Just got a garmin 305. But when I was in the store the sales associate said a lot of people who get the 405 come back complaining.
Good luck with your continued search.

Thanks for the b-day wishes. I am leaning more and more toward the 310xt. I don't really like the look of it, but seems to have what I am looking for.

Happy late B-Day - running watches are ugly just like biking jersey's and shorts. It's part of the appeal ;-)

Those running distance are impressive. Stay healthy bud - more working out mean more rest and more food.
