Monday Blues? Get Outta Here!

Well here we go again. Time to reset the clock / odometer and DO EXCERSIZE!!!

I hit the sack at 10ish last night and had a lousy time getting to sleep. Our ceiling fan is going tick tick tick and it drove me bonkers!! After I reach bonkers status it's all over. No sleep for this cat. You see I obsess over all sorts of stuff not just the good things....

Anyway, all self psycho analysis aside, this morning was a good one. I thought it was gonna be a little rough since my ipod was a dangerously low battery charge but she managed to get through the whole run. NEED PODCASTS!

I took a very relaxing rest day yesterday which involved not running or biking and consuming an adequate amt of fuel. Rest day is the only day that I actually eat as much as I'm supposed to I bet. That fuel and rest allowed me to to start running with ZERO tighness right from the start.

My plan - just run and not worry about the pace. That will take care of itself as I move along. I had full intentions of doing 13+ miles today.

I only looked at my Garmin about 5 or 6 times was happy to see that I was in the low 7:00 range so I just left well enough alone.

My motivation - If you are looking for motivation listen to some running podcasts. Dirtdawg50K and rundigger are two guys who have great podcasts that really keep a person's eye on the prize. I also listened to Zen and the Art of Triathlon. If you want to put things into perspective listen to a podcast about training for the Iron Man or an ultra. They use numbers like 100 miles, 50 miles and 23 hrs. Makes my 13 miles seem like a joke. I find that inspiring some may not.

Here are the stats for today's run -

Distance: 13.47 miles

Time: 1 hr 36 min 23 secs

Pace: 7:09 min/miles

Shoes: Asics Nimbus 11

Pain: NONE

Feel: JUST PEACHY

Weather: Clear and cool

Temp: 64

HR: 149 average 163 max 45 resting

Sounds like a great motivatot. Usually I listen to party music something to get my goin. But a podcast about running I'm sure would get me pumped. How do I get a podcast just download from itunes like we do music. I'm so technically challenged. But I'd give it a shot and c how it moves me. Thanks for that info!
