This week I spent three days doing support help for the Gurnee store. Target periodically does that when stores have huge projects going, and right now the Target Greatland is going through a remodel, so they can add fresh produce, meats and bakery products to their selection.

Whenever I do these stints, I do like to try to get a run in from the store, so I get a nice change of scenery. I also track runs and kilometers by county. So far I have run in Wauwautosa, Racine, Franklin, and Waukesha.

I learned this week that Gurnee is actually a pretty nice running venue, despite all the traffic from the tollway and the huge shopping center. Grand has a nice sidewalk, and Hunt Club either has a good sidewalk or wide shoulders. Running on US 45 on Tuesday was a bit too exciting, but even that road was ok for running.

I think my favorite discovery was this unnamed dirt trail that following the highlines parallel to Dada Drive between Hunt Club and Knowles. It is actually quite hilly, but lots of fun, nonetheless. Ran from the Target to Third Lake and back.

So far I have run 31 klicks (19 miles) in Illinois this month, and hoping to get another run in down there next week.
