k89788 Rock Star Distance

Even though I have been metric for 28 years, some mile totals still hold a certain sway. 10 mile runs for example. I call them rock star distances.

Yesterday I hit my rock star distance of monthly totals: 322 klicks, or 200 miles. I do hit the 300k mark with some frequency, but there is always the nagging feeling that I missed the 200 mile mark. After all, it is only 22 klicks down the road.

So yesterday was a red letter day. It was the first time since June 2004 that I visited the 200 mile mark, and the third time since the turn of the century.

My 200 mile total time was 27:29:18. I don't surpass the 24 hour mark much either these days. I also ran 21 runs of 10 klicks plus.

I also ran all 31 days, which is something that I don't recommend, but May was such a beautiful month, that I wanted to be out there every day. And now I don't feel that much worse for wear.

I know this feeling of accomplishment is fleeting. So I am enjoying the sense of accomplishment, the visit from the rock star that is 200 miles.
