| After 3 days of just 5k runs. I did my first 10k run since the marathon. Went pretty well too. 48:03. I had to do laundry so I decided to multitask. Let's face it. The magazines at those laundromats are always pretty lame, and people have been touching them after they've touched their underwear.
So I created an aufgangenlauf, or task run. I ran a course with 4 arms, each extending 1.25 klicks from the intersection of the laundromat. I started right after I got all the washers going, and then dropped in just before I hit the last arm and put the clothes in the dryer. It was a good change of pace.
Did still feel a little sore after 7 klicks, but much better than I was on Sunday. I like to start running right after the marathon. It seems like the post marathon run is a lot like pulling off a bandaid. You know it is going to hurt, but you need to get it over with and quickly.
So now that the aufgangenlauf is a success, I might try it more often. |
