| I was going to miss a 12 mile trail run with a good group of runners on Saturday to see the wife's 1st duathlon.
But could I push myself on a solo run?
So Fri. after work, I stopped at Hinckley to run the trail loop around the lake.
Started out slow and felt rough, even walked up a few hills on the first loop, but was able to shake off the rust, get faster with each loop and finish well.
loop 1: 32:30
loop 2: 27:30
loop 3: 24:20
loop 4: 22:00
After finishing, I walked to a bench overlooking the lake in the late afternoon sun to rest before going home.
Strange irony....... the wooden bench was dedicated to a Lawrence and had been engraved with this quote: "I have finished the race! Now the crown!".
