Running mechanics

After my recent long 24km run last weekend, I have this pain behind my right upper ankle. Actually it was an old pain I picked up last year from cycling. It keeps on coming back whenever I push a bit hard but none if I rest & stretch more. I'm assuming that it's a muscle issue.

After having some thoughts & analysis, I listed down some reasons for the cause:

1. shoe problem - ran with adizero tempo but never felt the same problem before i.e. during GE 30k.

2. carbo load / diet - just enough although I didn't whizz down pasta the night before but managed to get a breakfast bar that morning.

3. running mechanics - this would probably be the reason. I was not running economically. My heelstrike is the problem. Copied the running mechanic from a local buddy. Maybe it doesn't suits me. Ran a cross check with websites, I have to go back to my natural running mech which is the correct type.

Ran this week reverting back to my old mech. Pace was suprisingly fast, getting the rolling feeling of my legs under me like cycling. Felt great.
