First Half Marathon

| I did it! I ran my first half marathon. Thanks for everyone's encouragement! It was definitely one of the coolest experiences of my life. I seriously didn't even feel like I was running unitl mile 6. The crowds were awesome and there were live bands about every mile or so. Then around mile 10 it got really hard. It was the hottest day of the year so far (about 86 degrees!). I drank at almost every station, but I still had to walk around mile 11. I finished strong, and then recovered. My time was 2 hours 24 minutes. I trained at 10 min. miles, but ran 11 during the race. I'm still really proud of myself. I just want everyone to know -- if I can do this, anyone can. What a blast and I look forward to running more in the future! :) |
