15 K in the rain

I did do it, and I am much happier about it today.

Here is how it went, we got there and it was CLEAR. We (Amanda and moi) registerred and got in the car to eat our oatmeal and it started to POUR!!! No even a little drizzle but POUR literally in 1mn. We just looked at eachother and said "uh oh". It kept pouring for the next 30 mn, finally at 7.52 am we had to leave the car. I put my ipod in a sandwich bag and in my jacket pocket.

Mile 1 was through a parking lot= puddles, not too fun.

I tried very hard to pace myself and stay close to Amanda, but I also wanted to go faster. She is not that much slower but I always get over excited.

I lost her at about mile 2.5 and by mile 3, I could not see her.

Meanwhile, it kept pouring.

At mile 6, the drizzle lightenned up a bit, so I took my ipod out for 2 seconds and put back a song that I liked. Other than that, I never touched it, nor increased the volume.

Mile 6-8 was heavy drizzle. I stopped at mile 7 to walk for 30 seconds. Before mile 8, I stopped for a bit to walk, I walked about 2 mn, and then another minute before mile 9. My goal was to walk 5 mn or less.

My pants and all my clothes were just absolutelt soaked, and the FREAKING clock BROKE, yes! the timing clock showed 99999 as I crossed the finish line. So, I know that I did somewhere b/w 1h35 mn the person who was wayyy ahead and 1h 38 mn the one after.

I got my official time 1h 35 mn 10 seconds.
