i-Race at IIT Powai

| Successfully completed a 10K race inside the beautiful IIT Powai campus in Bombay, in a PERSONAL BEST time of 1 hr 3 secs. It was a beautiful day to run with heavy rains interspersed with drizzles throughout the run. The route was very scenic passing through wooded forests, very inviting and alluring lush green playgrounds, Started off at a furious pace for the first 1.5 kms but later slowed to an acceptable pace. The route was a 5 kms loop passing through twice and at about 4 kms and thereafter at 8 kms there were hill climbs, which was taking its toll on the second loop. Started picking up pace after the second monster climb and thereafter sprinted away to a personal best. This is part of the worldwide IIT Alumni organised throughout the world at various places and typically the IITians have devised a complex formula to find out the overall standings based on age, weight & height category. IIT Powai had organised this race very well, there were all facilities like water and electral throughout the route and packed breakfast in the form of poha were given to all the participants, followed by steaming hot tea and coffe. Drinking a hot coffee after an arduous run was like a manna from heaven. |
