Boulder Spring Half Marathon
Saturday, 06 March 2010 - Written by eigenadam [profile]
I'm one week away from the first half marathon of the season. This year I've been really good about sticking to it and running every 4-5 days a week. Even if I'm tired. Even if I'm busy. And it feels great.

Signing up for the Colorado Marathon in May on January 1 has been a great motivation for me. I think I'm finally starting to get used to running in the Colorado cold (I'm from California, so Colorado is actually cold to me) and I've also made friends with the treadmill at the gym.

Getting excited that the weather is warming up. I'm going to do an easy 10 miler today to get ready for the half next week. I just picked up some of those newfangled Brooks Green Silence racing flats and I'm going to try them out.

You're gonna dominate that half.

Good job on sticking to the program. Like I always say (everyone here is probably sick of reading it...). You never regret going out for a run but always regret skipping one.

Thanks!

That's totally true. I always feel better after running, even if I don't want to beforehand.

The half went well. 1:54:05 which is a PR for me. I think it would have been better but the first mile or two I had to weave through slower people. GPS showed I ran 13.3 miles. A good race though.

On to the full marathon!
