Greatest Run I could dream of!

Yesterday was the greatest run day I think that I have ever had. It wasnt because of the distance, and it wasnt because of the speed. It was the greatest because of the company I had. I ran for the first time with my 8 year old daughter, we ran 1 mile in 10:06. While we were running my wife and son were getting ready and warming up. We finished our mile and my daughter climbed on her bike and her and my wife took off on a 3.4 mile run, while my son and I took off on a 5.4 mile run. The boy and I finished our run in 46:05 staying just under 8:30min/miles. I love running with him and couldnt be prouder that my daughter now has decided that she wants to be a runner.

I AM SO PROUD OF MY FAMILY!!!!!

Great! Inspired by your post, I had my 8 year-old daughter bike with me on my 3 mile run today. She's excited about going again next week.

Awesome. I just signed my whole family up the do the color run ( thecolorrun.com/ ). If I remember correctly then your closer to Austin than Dallas so the color run is in your area this weekend. Might be fun for you and your family.

It'll be in Dallas on the 19th. I don't usually participate in these type of races (gimmick runs) but when I was checking it out the kids showed interest; I figured if it gets them interested in being active then what the heck.

It was indeed a very special and memorable run. Congratulations for setting a great example that your children are now following.

That's awesome! A man's family should always come first and it sounds like you've got a pretty good handle on that. Congrats and have a great weekend!
