View your distance as a trip across the US
Wednesday, 05 January 2011 - Written by tim [profile]
With the new year and everybody checking how far they went in 2010 - I thought it would be fun to visualize the total distance as a trip across the US. If you go to accomplishments and click on totals you will be able to see your distance as a line across the US.

Here is mine:

Note: It is not meant to be 100% accurate and is for entertainment purposes only

Nice. I had forgotten about that portion of the website (If I'm not mistaken the only thing new is the map visualizer).

Is the "Personal Best" new too? I don't remember seeing that before but I'm not certain.

Thatis so cool. Thanks

cool, it says i'm on my 3rd trip, so i think it must be my total distance, not just 2010 (i did 1800km in 2010)

Off topic discussions in blogs
Tuesday, 02 June 2009 - Written by tim [profile]
I have noticed that lately there has been a number of people posting off topic discussions in their blogs. I do not have the time or energy to moderate what people post in their blogs so I have decided not to feature posts on the main blog page from users that post off topic material to their blogs. The blogs of these users are still available from the "List blogs by author" link on the left - but their blogs are no longer featured on this page. Please, if you have off topic discussions use the forum or other websites.

hot and humid
Saturday, 24 March 2007 - Written by tim [profile]
Spring in Saint Louis has always been short - but this has got to be a record. It seems like it was just a week ago that we had temps in the 40'ies and now it is almost 75 degrees at 10 in the morning and so humid as well.

I hope the temps will drop before the marathon or it will be a hard one.

Tim, I live in Houston and can certainly relate to the heat and humidity creeping back up. This morning (Monday, May 7), it was already over 80 with 90% humidity (heat index of 84) BEFORE the sun came up. As for the rest of your blog, I really enjoyed your posts and you have some very impressive times.

If you get a chance, please visit my running web site, Faithful Soles. I have a categorized and searchable running Blog Database on there and would appreciate it if you would link your blog to it (with a 15 minute 5K I'd say you would be in our elite category of bloggers). Thanks and continued good luck in your training and racing.

First below 9 min/mile run!
Thursday, 08 March 2007 - Written by tim [profile]
This evenings run was awesome! Finally got below 9 minute per mile. Just a short run - but I was very happy since I usually go at 9.5 min mile and gaining speed has always been one of the hardest things for me.

When it rains it pours! I was looking forward to a nice run in th park - but all this rain is doing a good job of inducing procrastination.

Great running weather
Monday, 19 February 2007 - Written by tim [profile]
Sunday and today have been great for running outside in STL. I am glad since I had been holding off my long run so I would not have to go on the treadmill. Today the park was a mudbath though - several places I almost lost a shoe and my feet were drenched when I got back. Hopefully this will clear up before long and hopefully it will not all freeze again soon.

So far everything is going well with the training program. The weekly emails help keep me uptodate with the schedule.
