I Know this is an old post, but just out of curiosity: what are you eating on an average training day to get those kcals down?
I've recently added protein shakes/bars to my diet after years of shunning them, and i have to say it seems to have resolved the weakness I'd started feeling in my legs. I think this may be down to nutrient timing though, as i can now get some protein down straight after training, without needing to wait an hour if I'm instructing straight after. My kcal's haven't gone up, but when seems to be pretty important as well as what and how much...
