After looking at my running log for the year, I think I should keeping on using my old McMillan schedule for about a month before I move on to the 2nd one. My running has been spotty for 2008, and I think I should put in a month of 15 mile weeks before moving on.

new begining

Today is the first day of my new program. I haven't run much over the past two to three weeks. Between end of school stress and fighting off a cold, I just have not had the energy. My body feels quite stiff though and I know it is craving the release of exercise.
I ran 2.5 miles at tortoise pace of 15:40. I felt stale and hot on the treadmill, but it was nevertheless great to be running. Hopefully I can get few outdoor runs in this holiday.

5 Days to go

Five days to go before 4th Sunday run at Lake Merritt. I am setting a goal of forty minutes, which is five minutes faster than what I ran back in July. It is important for me to keep my goals in mind, because it is easy for me to become unrealistic and to start having illusions of grandeur. I keep thinking i am real close to running a 5k at a 10 minute pace. It is a long term goal of mine, emphasis on "long term."

I am now running 3 times a week. My long run ion the weekend is 5 to 6 miles. My Monday run is an easy run of 50 minutes, and my Wednesday run is 40 minutes at a slightly quicker pace.
