Mystery Weight Gain

OK... I know I must be eating more but I can't figure this one out. I am running 42 miles per week... 6 days per week and 7 miles per day. I raised the mileage from 28 miles per week over the past 6 months. My weight is going up to the tune of about 15 pounds! During this time I have retired and don't walk around during the day as much as I used to do, but I worked at a desk anyway.

So what's going on here?

I trained last summer/fall for my first 1/2 marathon. Hadn't been much of a runner before. I gianed weight as well. After consulting a well trained marathoner and my aerobics instructor/personal trainer, I have learned that I may have been overeating to compensate for the feeling of, "well, I ran..."

Also, take a look at your heart rate by wearing a heart rate monitor or use the treadmill, I was over working myself and I was above the zone where I did not burn fat!
