Cut Back Run, Week 4

Hard to believe we just did our first cut back run. It was pretty easy for me, even in the incredibly humid weather (upper 70s by 7am). I ran a 10:06 min/mile pace virtually the entire way, even though we were supposedly running around 10:30s. Next week, I hope to put in a word w/ the coaches about pacing, because there is no doubt in my mind that we were running much more quickly than we should have been. Part of this is the GPS device problem. Anyway, regardless, I sped up significantly in the last .5 miles because I had a lot of extra energy. My feet and inner left knee are sort of in pain, indicating that I really need new shoes or at the very least new inserts. I cannot believe I've been running with the same inserts since March or April of 2005!!!! While I've replaced my shoes many times since then, the use of the same inserts is no good for my joints!
This week I plan on the following training schedule:
Monday: 4 miles (if it's not raining) 10 min mile
