building endurance

I have to say that I ran outside today for the first time in over a month. I know that while training for the marathon I really need to condition myself to run outside in order to get use to the outdoor running elements and build my endurance. But building endurance is something I'm learning to do inside. I've started employing little tricks such as putting a magazine with lots of pictures of dresses or new accessories I want to oogle on top of my treadmill stats. That way, I'm into the music, takign my mind off the running and day dreaming of the little dresses and events i'd be wearing them to. (I know, could I have any shallower thoughts?). But I have to say this helps me! By the end of my run outside I'd done 6 miles with little problem and without leaning on the crutch of my magazine...outside! I think I just have to set some guidelines up for myself like that I can run inside two-three times a week and run outside the rest.
