I've moved my blog to another website http://runDAGrun.com. It gave me more flexibility over the overall content. Check it out, I'm officially running the Inaugural Rock 'n' Roll San Antonio Rock 'n' Roll marathon on Nov 16th. Follow my blog on my website to watch my progress.

Sorry to lose you dag. If you want to integrate LYR with your new blog check out our blogging tools:
Thanks. I was actually searching for that exact thing. The only issue I have with the weekly running tool is the ease of population. I'd like to just run, upload from my garmin, and have it autopopulate the running log. I just don't see how to do that without using an export from one site, and an import to LYR. Am I missing something?
This morning’s run was once again great! I'm of the mindset that all runs are great, except for the ones you don't do. So this morning, I got up, got dressed, and headed down stairs. I was met in the living room by my 6 year old daughter. She asked to go with me on my run. I automatically said no to her, as I tend to do with most things, and she didn't take the news so well. So I gave it some thought.
She said she wanted to ride her scooter alongside me again as I went on my 1.5mile run. Knowing she could handle it, I decided to use this opportunity to get her mind in shape as well. I praised her decision to work out with me, and make healthy choices. I told her of all the benefits exercising has, and she absorbed it all like a sponge.
At some point, I'd like to take her on my runs with me, with her running alongside me, but for now, I'm just going to take it slow, and get her engaged in any physical activity to help build a great foundation for her as she starts mak... Read full entry

You should definitely take her with you! We go as a family to the McGuire's Runner club every TUesday. It is a 5k route and even though we take the jogging stroller, the kids (5, 3) usually hit the pavement for about 1 mile and then run the last 300 ft in.
They LOVE IT! ANd I hope they don't wait until they are 30 to do sometihng good for themselves like this!

Exaclty, She loves it, and I will bring her with me at least once a week to develop the habbit. I wish someone did that for me when I was younger.
Well I finally laced up the shoes, and hit the street for the first time in quite some time. I woke with the urge that had so long escaped me, and I just had to get out there and run. Now granted, I've take a few steps back since my last run, so I wasn't going out for the 4-5 miles that I hope to get back to, but a simple "in theory" 1.5 miles just to say I did.
I was home this morning with my daughter, and I couldn't just leave here home alone while I went out for a 15 minute jaunt, so she tagged along on her scooter. That kept it interesting, because she was clinging to the curb, and on the sidewalks, and I had to constantly make sure she was being safe. Along the way, she got real slow, and I appreciated the break. All in all, it was a great run. But hey, what run isn't...?

Man did I get fat fast. When I was running 10-15 miles a week, I was in good shape, and for some reason thought I could continue without doing as much running. WRONG.
So here I sit, looking at the dusty blogs, the dusty running logs, my dusty garmin, shoes that beg to be beating the pavement, and a gut that doesn't care.
The brain does, however, and I remember what it was like to be out there running on a routine basis, how good it felt to be thinner, how good it felt to say to someone, yeah I just got back from a 5 mile run, no biggie.
I couldn't run 5 miles now if I had to, so I've got to start slow. Well here goes.. Time to get running..
There is nothing like visiting the site of the race to get your motivation up! Last week, I went on a business trip to Orlando. I got to see exactly how far 26.2 miles is first hand. While I didn't acutally drive the course, I did see the start finish area, and the hotel I will be staying at. I drove around the disney grounds for just long enough to know that there is a lot of pavement there. If I don't start getting serious about this now, January will be here before I know it.. So Here I am.. I have a couple small runs under me again, but the emotional leve is so much more than before. I am ready. I can do this.
I purchased Tom Holland's Book "The Marathon Method" and it gave me the final jolt to make this goal attainable.
I just got in from a 3mile run and I feel great! I forgot how much I missed running.
Only 201 Days left until The Disney Marathon. I am so stoked. I can not wait to get back to my longer runs. You know the ones where you feel like you could just run all day. Well I'm not there yet, as this run proved to me that I'm not even close. However, I was out there, and that is 99% of the battle for me. So a slow 1.6 miles is what I needed to continue to feed the routine of getting up, lacing up, and heading out. What a joy that is. The weater was great, just a slight breeze, from an overnight rain that left everything nice and cool. A hint of sunshine let me remember that I don't want to be out here all day, and so I was glad to get back to the house. I'm traveling soon, and this time, the shoes are coming with me, I'll bet they will be glad to come along again..

I'm doing Disney too. Isn't it exciting? Have you done this one before? I've lived here 5 years (since moving back) but this is the first time I've had time to train for disney.
Good luck!

Thanks for stopping by.. This will be my first Full Marathon. I have not run Disney at all..
I am so excited to be out there again! Thanks for stopping by, perhaps we can meet up after to congratulate one another.
Well, here it is.. Since I have actually paid my entry fee into the Disney Marathon, I figured I'd better get back to running. I kept thinking tomorrow would be a good day to hit it again, and then I realized that if I kept saying that, another race that I've paid for, but didn't train for would quickly come and go.
Now granted, today's run wasn't all that great of a run, but it did get me in the motion. Get the gear, Ipod, garmin, make sure they were charged, lace up the shoes, and make it happen. I did all that. I even figured I would take my daughter with me. She rode along side me in her Escalade, which severly limited my running. She stopped every so often, and took the long way around the corners, so it kept me at a slow 5mph pace. Sometimes slower. Not to mention the battery died in the middle of the run, so I ended up pushing her and the cart back the last mile or so.
However all that being said, I still went out and ran which was the whole intent in the first pl... Read full entry
